can be found at Longs Drugs.

It’s a sport for the whole family. You can find every thing you need in South Maui, with over 15 Shopping Centers, four grocery stores and, yes, lots of T-shirts.

Two major new centers opened in 2002. Safeway Plaza off Piilani Hwy and The Shops at Wailea which feature upscale shops, such as Gucci and three of Lahaina’s finest art galleries.

Shopping is easy to find from Ma'alaea to Makena. Here’s a mini

tour of how to find what you are looking for. If you start at Maalaea Triangle in the Maui Ocean Center you will find lots of creative ocean-related gift items.

Continue down Kihei’s beach road for shopping galore. At the Mana Kai Resort is Hi’i Lani Clothing & Gift Shop, packed with resortwear and gift items for the whole family. At the hotels you can find upscale shops like Cruise at the Grand Wailea. Aloha Friday at the Outrigger is a festive affair with crafts, hula and music.

There are only a few “Ma & Pa” stores left in South Maui. They usually carry extra local items and are good place to “talk story” with the owners. Ma'alaea General, Suda Store, Village General at Village by the Sea and Keawakepu General at the Mana Kai. The open-air markets are fun to shop for their great selection of small gift items at bargain prices.

Most hotels and condos are within an easy walk to shopping and dining. There is a shopping shuttle bus serving most shopping centers and hotels.
