Activities

Romantic walks on miles of white sand beaches, body surfing, snorkeling, boating, fishing, golf, tennis, horseback riding, clay shooting, painting... it’s all here and more.

The Coon family’s Trilogy Excursions cover all of your water fantasies on modern catamarans, not unlike the outriggers the Hawaiians used to cross the Pacific for hundreds of years. Sailing to Maui themsleves, three generations ago, the Coon family stayed to create Maui's largest sailing fleet. Year after year, it is voted #1 by visitors.

There are three boarding locations to choose from: Maalaea, to snorkel Molokini, Kaanapali for snorkel and scuba sites on Maui or Lahaina or for all-day excursions to the private island of Lanai. You can also add the Wild Dolphin Watch, Jeep Safari or Eco-Enrichment Kids Camp to your Lanai trip.

You'll enjoy the home cookin’ and friendly crew with lots of aloha on any of the trips. Discover for yourself why Trilogy has been so popular by joining the Trilogy crew for a trip to remember.

To Molokini... and beyond.

Cruise or snorkel Molokini aboard Prince Kuhio, a 92 ft. motor yacht built for Virgil Koehne in 1984. This luxury cruise vessel is designed to accommodate 150 passengers in comfort and convenience with an air-conditioned main cabin, large sun deck, fresh water showers and extra large swim step.

One of the captains, Mike Peavy, heard about the design of the Prince Kuhio, while it was being built in Louisiana. He was captaining crew boats in the Gulf of Mexico at the time. He left and flew to Maui to meet the boat when it arrived and soon signed on. He even married his first mate, who was also part of the original crew.

Molokini Island. Divers’ Mecca.

The Prince Kuhio leaves Maalaea Harbor 7:15 am daily for trips to Molokini Crater Preserve and returns at noon. The trip includes snorkeling at two sites, Molokini and Kalaeloa, better known as Turtle Town (weather permitting).

A continental breakfast is served as well as a deluxe deli buffet lunch to fill your opu (stomach). There is snorkeling gear, plus hands-on, in-the-water instruction by the friendly certified crew. SNUBA gear, underwater cameras, optical masks and flotation devices are also available. A videographer is on staff.

Whale watch trips are from Dec. 15 through March and leave at 12:30 pm, returning at 2:30 pm daily. A great way to see whales is from the 15 ft. high observation deck. A complimentary air-conditioned motor coach is available for transport to and from the harbor.

This is the boat all ages will really enjoy. Call 808 242-8777 or 800 468-1287.

“What’s the Scoop” heads out to Molokini. It leaves from the Kihei Boat Ramp, making the trip just 10 minutes rather than about an hour from Maalaea Harbor.
